WORD Day 2021

Date: 11.03.2021

World Young Rheumatic Disease Day (WORD Day) is an annual event, taking place on 18 March. Register for the WORD Day webinar series!

It is quickly becoming the biggest and most important day in the year for raising awareness of rheumatic and autoinflammatory diseases in children. Unlike many other awareness days, WORD Day is all about raising awareness and not about raising money. This really helps a wide range of organisations and individuals to get involved.

As the pandemic hit last year, events were moved online and it was amazing to see people from all over the world taking part. This year, events are also going to be online - raising awareness of childhood rheumatic and autoinflammatory conditions through our networks and social media channels.

Your organisation can get involved and support the day in a number of ways. You could interact with the WORD Day Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages, sharing individual stories online, upload real-life examples of the challenges faced by children and using the hashtag #WORDDay2021.

There will also be some online information events with a panel of young people and speakers to discuss themes such as what matters to young people, support, treatments and vaccinations. More details of these events will be shared very soon, so keep an eye on the WORD Day social media channels.
