PReS Sister Hospital Initiative: Call for Applications, 6th edition
Date: 01.10.2025
Building on the resounding success of our 5th edition of PReS hospital pairings, we are happy to announce the launch of the 6th edition of the PReS Sister Hospital Initiative.
This initiative supports hospitals and health professionals in low-resource income countries by twinning them with pediatric rheumatology teams in other countries. The aim is to maximise opportunities for a two-way exchange of knowledge and educational opportunities.
We consider this to be an excellent opportunity to:
- explore differences between the health systems of the hospitals involved
- learn about organizational aspects of care for children with rheumatic diseases in different settings
- facilitate the exchange of knowledge to explore the possibilities of more extensive and concrete collaborations.
This initiative is no longer in its infancy, and has had great success in allowing participants to share, grow and learn. We pair centres worldwide that are willing to share their expertise and experience, and while scientific knowledge is important, we would also like centres to share how they work with other health professionals or organize their teams daily.
We are very keen to see how we can develop exchange programs for fellows, clinical or basic, or educational research grants.
The 6th edition will take place between January and October 2026. We suggest a minimum of 1 monthly session (remote working e.g., by Zoom, Teams), with presenters alternating in each of the paired centres.
We propose that during these sessions, centres present their teams and their organization as well as clinical cases and updates on diseases and treatments. We anticipate that centres in health settings around the world face similar and different challenges and that we can all learn from each other.
If your centre would like to participate, please let us know by email by the 5th of December 2025:
marija.jelusic.drazic@gmail.com or danwindschall@web.de
We will then contact all centres that are interested with more information.
