2nd PReS Educational Course on Juvenile Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies
Date: 17.09.2025
Mark your calendars for this high-impact educational course brought to you by the PReS JDM Working Party!
Juvenile Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies (JIIM) are rare, complex autoimmune diseases that demand expert, multidisciplinary care. With growing insights into disease mechanisms—including type I interferon dysregulation, JAK-STAT pathway activation, and mitochondrial stress—this is a pivotal moment to connect evolving science with clinical practice.
Following the success of the inaugural Lisbon course, this second PReS JIIM Educational Course will take place in central London from 1–2 December 2025.
It will feature cutting-edge updates in clinical management, translational research, and emerging therapies, with a special focus on JDM as a model of interferon-mediated disease. Discussions will highlight overlaps with monogenic interferonopathies and explore novel therapeutic approaches targeting these pathways.
New for 2025, the course will include hands-on workshops covering:
• Nailfold capillaroscopy
• Skin and muscle disease activity scoring tools
• Multidisciplinary assessment techniques
In addition, we are delighted to welcome parents and young people living with JDM, who will share their experiences and perspectives, ensuring the course remains grounded in real-world patient care.
This event offers a unique opportunity to foster international collaboration, harmonise care standards, and inspire the next generation of researchers and clinicians in paediatric IIM.
