Call for PReSTaR Scientific Committee Nominations

PReS is launching a call for nominations for three experts, especially in clinical trials/registries/research.
PReS is currently establishing a paediatric rheumatology clinical research centre – PreSTaR (PReS Network for Trials and Research) - in coordination with Giannina Gaslini Institute.
For its newly established Scientific Committee, PReS is launching a call for nominations for three experts, especially in clinical trials/registries/research.
Nominees would be elected to the PReSTaR Scientific Committee for a 2-year term, which could be extended for a maximum of further 2 years.
Deadline date: 10 February 2025
The general aims of PReSTaR are:
• To develop a PReS clinical research centre with infrastructure for establishing and maintaining clinical databases
• To foster and support clinical research in paediatric rheumatology through a network involving clinical and academic centres and PReS working parties
• To focus on high quality clinical research activities and provide a research framework for prospective disease registries with associated biobanks, investigator initiated clinical trials and sponsored clinical trials
• To support training in research methodology
The role of the three experts:
The role of these members will be further defined in the next revision of the PReS bylaws. However, these experts will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical trials within the PReSTaR network. They will ensure that the trials adhere to the highest standards of scientific rigor and ethical conduct. Additionally, the nominees will collaborate with various stakeholders, including academic and clinical centres, to foster a robust research environment. Their expertise will be instrumental in advancing paediatric rheumatology research and improving patient outcomes.
