Any Italian pharmaceutical company which is the owner of medicines with marketing authorisation in Italy (AIC), or which, on the basis of an agreement with the respective owner, provides for the actual marketing of medicines, and which intends to organise or contribute to the organisation of a congress, conference, or meeting on issues related to the use of medicines, must send a communication to the Italian Medicines Agency authorising the proposed educational meetings. This is required to allow the Agency to verify their strict technical nature, pursuant to Article 124 of Legislative Decree 219/2006.
