This year, we mark the 28th anniversary of the foundation of PReS as we come together for our 34th Annual Congress.
Each year, the PReS Congress brings together clinicians, researchers, allied health professionals and trainees to exchange ideas, challenge current thinking and advance the care of children and young people with rheumatic and immune-mediated diseases. The 2027 programme will continue this tradition, offering cutting-edge science, practical clinical updates and opportunities to learn from experts and colleagues from around the world.
I am particularly pleased to welcome you to Istanbul, a city that perfectly reflects the international spirit of our society. Situated between Europe and Asia, Istanbul has connected people, cultures and ideas for centuries. Today, it remains one of the world's great meeting places, making it an ideal setting for a congress dedicated to collaboration and the exchange of knowledge across borders.
Türkiye has a strong and vibrant paediatric rheumatology community and is home to many dedicated PReS members who actively contribute to education, research and patient care. Hosting the Congress in Istanbul provides an opportunity to strengthen these connections while welcoming an even wider range of participants from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and beyond. Bringing together such diverse experiences and perspectives enriches our discussions and helps us better understand the challenges and opportunities faced by colleagues across different healthcare systems.
The future of paediatric rheumatology depends on our ability to learn from one another.
