Dear PReS Members,                                             

Let me introduce myself: my name is Jeannette Cappon, Pediatric Physical Therapist. In Madrid I will take a seat on the PReS Council as the representative of the Health Professionals. I have placed my personal commitment on the PReS website and invite you to read it and respond to this. /about-pres/personal-commitment/j-cappon.html

For the near future, my commitment is to encourage Health Professionals, PReS members or non-members, to come to the EULAR/PReS congress in Madrid in June 2019 and in Prague 2020 and to meet there.

Madrid Program:
The program has interesting components in the field of pediatrics, such as a session on the influence of a rheumatic disorder on the development of sexuality and body image. Besides that interesting abstract sessions on overweight in JIA, psychosocial support for JIA and RA patients, or topics as school absence off patients with JIA.

The EULAR Congress has scheduled daily two HP and PARE (patient society) sessions. Adult HP Rheumatology topics like persistence of pain, fatigue, sleeping problems, healthy life style or compliance also play a role in child rheumatology care. These sessions can also be educational for us as HP in Pediatric Rheumatology.

Meet in Madrid:
Wednesday, June 12^th, in the HP Welcome session of 14:15 I will present our HP PReS at 15:20. I hereby invite you to be present to illustrate the introduction of HP PReS to the EULAR colleagues.

There will be a PReS Booth in the Village number C2. In the PReS Booth you will find information on PReS and the latest announcements on opportunities to meet.  PReS will make a route booklet to highlight sessions not to missed.

Use the booth as a meeting point! There will be a big notebook there to leave messages.

In Madrid, we will start to get to know each other (better), and find ways to connect with each other (digitally) during the year.

Prague 2020
The goal for 2020 is to be in Prague with a large group of HP from all over Europe.

The former representative Janjaap van der Net hopefully will be there also, as he continues to be project leader on the project “Pain and Fatigue in JIA”.  

It is an honour to step in his footsteps and I am happy to continue to collaborate with Janjaap and still learn from his expertise, built up in many years of dedication towards pediatric rheumatology and towards his mission to achieve Healthy Living for Children with Rheumatic Disease.

Physicians: encourage your HP-team!
In this Newsletter I would like to ask physicians to draw attention to the PReS in your working environment and to encourage nurses, physio's, occupational therapists, psychosocial HP to come to the congresses and meet other HP’s.

And should it no longer fit into the training budget for this year: please encourage (and support) participation for next year in Prague September 2020!
