Our PICS group, led by pediatric rheumatologists in PReS and CARRA, is working to develop high performing classification criteria for jSSc, one of the most severe paediatric rheumatic diseases. Long-term outcome for jSSc remains poor, with advances in care limited by its rarity and the lack of sensitive classification criteria. In 2024, the European Workshop for Rheumatology Research (EWRR) celebrates its 43rd edition and will take place for the 1st time in Genoa, Italy. The EWRR has a long tradition, it was started in 1981 and still is a unique event introducing new targets, biomarkers and pathways that have always been the broad basis for the development of a modern molecular pharmacotherapy of the autoimmune and inflammatory rheumatic diseases.
The PReS-EMERGE Global Affairs subcommittee launched a survey on global education in paediatric rheumatology.
